Period-Correct Fuel and Battery Care
Ethanol in modern pump fuel is corrosive to vintage rubber lines, attacks brass and zinc carburetor components, and absorbs water that ends up in the bottom of your tank. For a classic that's going to sit for months, leaving modern fuel in the system is one of the surest ways to need a carburetor rebuild on startup. We can drain fuel for long-term storage, add stabilizers, or point you toward local sources of ethanol-free fuel depending on your preference and the vehicle.
Battery care for carbureted classics is simpler than for modern cars but no less important. A drained battery left for months can sulfate beyond recovery. We monitor batteries during monthly check-ins, which include a basic exterior dusting, and can install trickle chargers when that's the right call for the car and the owner.
Preservation of Original Materials
Single-stage lacquer paint, original chrome plating, vinyl tops, and factory-stitched interiors don't have the durability of modern materials and don't tolerate the heat-and-UV cycle of an unconditioned desert garage. Original paint hazes and fades. Chrome pits where moisture and heat conspire. Vinyl and rubber dry, shrink, and crack.
Climate-controlled storage doesn't restore originality, but it stops the degradation. A car kept in our facility looks the same in five years as it does on intake, which, for a survivor or matching-numbers original, is the entire point of owning it.
Respecting Originality and Provenance
Numbers-matching documentation, original drivetrains, and untouched factory components are most of what makes a classic muscle car valuable to a serious collector. We treat that value the way it should be treated, we don't open hoods unless asked, we don't move trim or panels, and we document every interaction with the car during its time with us.
For owners who want monthly starts to circulate fluids, we do that and log it. For owners who'd rather the car sit completely undisturbed, we respect that and log it. The chain of custody stays clean either way, and you have a clear record of how your vehicle was cared for if and when you ever sell or appraise it.
